Jade: How long have you been playing basketball?
Malani Henderson: Since I was 6
Jade: What inspired you to play basketball?
Malani Henderson: A way to build a closer bond with my dad because we didn’t have that. So I figured maybe if I played basketball he would want to train me and we could become closer.
Jade: Who was the athlete in the family your mom or dad?
Malani Henderson: My dad
Jade: Where do you want the game of basketball to take you? High School All American, McDonald's All American
Malani Henderson: I want to be a McDonald All American
Jade: What would you like to do after college?
Malani Henderson: If Basketball doesn’t go my way then I would become a lawyer.
Jade: Who is your favorite basketball player?
Malani Henderson: Te’a Cooper because she so pretty and girlish off the court and on the court, you don’t want to play with her. On the court, she likes helping her teammates.
Jade: What type of music do you like?
Malani Henderson: I don’t listen to a lot of hip hop because I live with my grandparents, so we listen to a lot of R&B.
Jade: Since this is Black History month, who in the black community has been your biggest influence?
Malani Henderson: Definitely Jackie Robinson because he helped sports be different because Blacks couldn’t play white people sports then so he made it possible.
Jade: What do you like to do for fun?
Malani Henderson: Like to make TikTok’s and be with family and friends.
